A FAIRY Meadow businesswoman is hoping all her Christmases come at once following a decision to relocate her shop, which started life three years ago as a new business specialising in rare Christmas ornaments, decorations and gifts.

Christmas Collectables attracted lots of attention at its former site but is far more visible now at its new address at 86B Princes Hwy, Fairy Meadow.

Proprietor Sue Parovel said moving into the next block, opposite the TAB, helped a lot more Wollongong people discover the unique outlet.

"I have had people coming in from Newcastle and down the coast for four years but before I moved a lot of local people didn't even know I was here," she said.

The relocation coincided with Christmas Collectables extending its gift range.

And Mrs Parovel also plans to open more than five months of the year in the new location.

The business initially carried mostly Christmas-related stock but has now branched out into more general gift lines such as Mirano glass jewellery and many Danish products. It has become an agent for Lemax illuminated villages and has new 2006 stock arriving at the end of July.

"I actually have exquisite music boxes and fabulous music animated products and fibre optics," she said.

Mrs Parovel said the business was about giving Wollongong residents an alternative by providing them access to difficult-to-find gift lines.

She said the stock not only included items you wouldn't normally see in Wollongong, there was something for every age group.

"For the hard-to-buy-for person you are bound to find something you have never seen before."

Christmas Collectables also sells a range of baby's first Christmas items.
